Child and teenager taken to hospital after collision in Upwey

A teenager and a child were taken to hospital after a traffic collision in Upwey on Tuesday 20 September.

The CFA was notified at 4.26pm of reports of a vehicle accident, with the scene being declared under control 10 minutes later.

Paramedics treated a teenage boy for upper body injuries before he was taken to Dandenong Hospital, while a child was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital for further observation.

Three CFA vehicles from Upwey and Belgrave brigades attended the scene.

A VICSES spokesperson said volunteers from the Knox unit were dispatched to a potential road rescue following a multiple-vehicle collision.

“The crew was stood down on route after confirmation that no one was trapped and returned to the unit.” the spokesperson said.
