Ferntree Gully man charged after Upwey stabbing

A 21-year old Ferntree Gully man has been charged following an alleged stabbing on Mast Gully Road in Upwey on Thursday 22 September.

It is understood two men were involved in a dispute in a car park on Mast Gully Road around 7.30pm, where a 22-year-old Belgrave Heights man was allegedly stabbed to the face.

The Belgrave Heights man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, with the Ferntree Gully man allegedly leaving the scene.

The Ferntree Gully man was arrested on Friday 23 September and charged by Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit members.

He has been charged with Intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, assault with a weapon and was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on 29 September.
