Residents in Emerald and the surrounding area may see or smell smoke from a CFA planned burn on Friday 2 December.
CFA firefighters are planning to ignite the burn at Cardinia Reservoir if the weather and the site remain suitable.
“This burn is being undertaken to reduce the likelihood and intensity of embers during a fire to neighbouring properties and the local area by reducing the flammability of bark on the trees,” CFA said online.
“Firefighters and emergency service vehicles will be operating in the area while the burn is completed.”
