The Cardinia Arts Grants are now open until 11.59pm on Sunday 7 May 2023.
Cardinia Shire Council offers these grants to encourage local artists to connect their artistic practice with local communities in new ways. The grants provide financial assistance to local artists for initiatives that utilise, expand, and promote the arts within Cardinia Shire.
Artists and arts groups can apply for a grant of up to $5,000 from a pool of $25,000. Applicants must contact one of Council’s Arts Project Officers to discuss their project idea before submitting.
Emerging artists are strongly encouraged to apply as at least one emerging artist will be selected to receive a grant (pending eligible applicants meet all selection criteria).
Applications will be judged against the following criteria:
Artistic merit (innovation, individuality, track record and/or proven ability)
Proposed project (outcome, approach, plan)
Community relevance (ability to connect with locals and/or promote interest in the arts)
Feasibility (budget, timeline, risk, scale).
