Locals able to access flu vaccine at community immunisation sessions

Yarra Ranges Council is holding upcoming community immunisation sessions for locals wishing to receive their flu vaccination for 2023.

Sessions are available at Healesville, Yarra Junction, Lilydale and Upwey.

For vulnerable residents, such as children, older adults, people with chronic diseases or a weakened immune system, the flu can have serious and devastating effects.

The flu virus is found in almost invisible droplets from saliva, sneezes, coughs and runny noses. It can travel up to two metres, live on surfaces for up to 48 hours and is spread when people touch an infected surface.
