Emerald’s SES unit is putting out a warning for locals to be aware of the weather conditions over the coming days.
In a Facebook post shared earlier this week, they said the Hills area will be hit by a significant rain event over the next few days.
The SES urge locals to make sure they are well prepared, by ensuring gutters and drains are clear to avoid water getting into their homes and property.
They also recommend locals make sure to fully charge their mobile phones and computers where possible, and prepare for potential power outages in the area.
Finally, locals are encouraged to keep off the roads if possible and drive to the conditions.
