Community members interested in improving their digital skills are invited to head down to the Pakenham or Emerald Library next week, for Get Online Week (GOLW) activities.
GOLW is an initiative organised by Good Things Foundation, aimed at bridging the digital divide, particularly among individuals aged 50 and above.
The campaign seeks to empower everyone with the skills and knowledge needed to participate safely in the online world.
Taking place from 16 October to 22 October, Get Online Week provides an excellent opportunity for Myli patrons to receive assistance and support in getting online.
Myli Library branches actively participating in GOLW this year include Emerald, Inverloch, Korumburra, Leongatha, Mirboo North, Pakenham, Warragul, and Wonthaggi.
During this week, Myli Libraries will bolster its staffing levels to ensure that patrons receive the guidance and assistance they need to navigate the digital landscape.
Whether it’s learning how to use a computer, accessing online resources, or simply getting more comfortable with technology, Myli Libraries will be there to help!
Myli chief executive Leanne Williams expressed her enthusiasm for Myli’s fourth consecutive year participating in Get Online Week.
“We are thrilled to be part of this important initiative once again,” Ms Williams said.
“For some of our branches, GOLW has become an annual tradition, while for others, it’s their first time participating.
“Regardless, our commitment to helping people with their tech questions remains unwavering.
“During Get Online Week, thanks to the grants received from the Good Things Foundation, we can offer even more support and assistance.”
In addition to increased staffing levels, Myli Library branches will host various events and activities throughout Get Online Week.
