Scoresby tobacco store targeted in burglary

A Scoresby tobacco shop was targeted in an early morning break-in on Friday 13 October, sparking fears of another tobacco shop fire.

But police have confirmed the smoke seen coming from the business was from a security system, and there was no fire.

Knox crime investigation unit detectives are investigating a burglary at the Darryl Street store.

Police believe offenders forced entry into the business about 5.30am.

No one was inside at the time of the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au
