Buses are replacing trains on the Belgrave Line between Bayswater and Belgrave, due to a fallen tree damaging overhead wires near Tecoma.

Trains will continue to run between Flinders Street and Bayswater, with delays likely.

“We ask passengers to check station platform displays, listen for announcements, and to allow extra travel time for their journey,” the Department of Transport said.

“Passengers might also consider using buses on Route 753 for travel between Bayswater and Belgrave.”

Services are unlikely to resume during the afternoon peak due to the scale of the work required to rectify lines. Trains will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

The VicRoads signal team continues to monitor conditions in the area, adjusting traffic lights to assist with bus movements where possible.
