A community bushfire preparedness meeting will be held in Ferny Creek tonight by local CFA
Sassafras and Ferny Creek residents are invited to attend the bushfire community meeting tonight, Thursday 16 January in Ferny Creek.
From 7.30pm at 21 Clarkmont Road, the meeting will be hosted by Sassafras-Ferny Creek CFA members and will cover local conditions, the current bushfire threat and how residents can prepare their homes and families for the season.
A second (identical) meeting will be held next Saturday 18 January from 2pm at the same location.
The Sassafras-Ferny Creek Fire Brigade serves the townships of Sassafras, Ferny Creek, Tremont and parts of Sherbrooke in the Dandenong Ranges.
The wholly volunteer brigade is one of more than 1200 Country Fire Authority (CFA) brigades across Victoria.
