CFA to remember again

On 11 November at 11am, Ferntree Gully CFA will revise the once common tradition of sounding the station fire siren to remind residents to observe Remembrance Day.

This will be followed by two minutes silence to give time to reflect that this was the actual time when the armistice was signed formally ending World War I.

It also gives community time to remember all those who died in such armed conflicts. 2025 is also the 80th Anniversary of the ending of World War 2.

At the end of two minutes of silence, trumpeter Lyle Hoefer will be in the vicinity of the railway crossing and will sound the Last Post and Reveille.

“If possible, please remember, to stop what you are doing at that time, and observe two minutes of silence,” asked a member from the brigade.
