Fire Danger Period declared for Outer East, starts Monday 29 December

Fire restrictions will be in force across the whole state soon with the final Fire Danger Period (FDP) declared for the Yarra Ranges, Knox, Maroondah and Manningham.

This will come into effect from 1am on Monday 29 December.

After a drier-than-average autumn and winter, much of Victoria faces an elevated fire risk this summer.

There are many rules surrounding fire during a FDP, and locals are encouraged to visit the link to check what they can and can’t do: cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/fire-bans-ratings-and-restrictions/can-i-or-cant-i
