Aimee Stanton, 23, from Lilydale is one of 24 castaways who were chosen to compete on the Australian Survivor TV show.
Stanton has lived in Lilydale and Mooroolbark for her entire life and worked as a plumber before she went on the show.
In an interview with the Lilydale Leader, Stanton said being a former plumber helped her build a shelter.
To win the spot on the Channel 10 hit show, Aimee had to beat almost 16,000 other applicants and still remains a likely winner.
