In June Community Bank Monbulk & District held their annual Community Awards Night at the Monbulk Pavilion.

The branch was delighted to be able to hold this awards night after missing the last two years due to Covid restrictions.

The evening was filled with several celebrations from Community Bank Monbulk & District’s 10th Birthday, presenting local community groups with cheques from the Tokens of Appreciation wall and the announcement of the successful sponsorship recipients for Round 1 of 2022.

Aimee Te Boekhorst Branch Manager said, “Over the last 10 years, thanks to our founding shareholders and directors who had the vision of a locally owned and operated bank in town we have provided our customers with access to local, convenient banking services and knowledgeable staff who can provide advice and support.”

Community Bank Monbulk & District has financially supported hundreds of community initiatives and turned into one of the biggest sources of community funding in Monbulk.

“Our community contributions have reached a milestone of over $600,000 meaning we have invested over $1,100 every week into the Monbulk & District Community since we opened,” she said.

The team has worked together during the most incredibly difficult time over the last few years, and it has stuck together and supported each other to ensure that the branch has been able to stay open for our customers and community through the whole of the Covid pandemic.

“Every other bank in town has closed its doors; however we have remained open to be able to support our community and provide an important service.

“A big thank you to all of Community Bank Monbulk & District’s customers, your banking is delivering fantastic things for the Monbulk and District area. ”

The evening also celebrated local Community Groups, represented by many of the night’s attendees who participated in Community Bank Monbulk & Districts Tokens of Appreciation Program.

The in-branch tokens wall works by allowing customers to support local groups in the process of doing their banking.

Every Community group represented on the tokens wall earned tokens which equated to dollars for the community group.

Captain Simon Schroder representing Monbulk Fire & Rescue (CFA) was thrilled to accept a cheque for $3,400.

Sponsorship cheques were also handed out to successful groups who applied for funding in Round 1 2022. St Pauls Primary School, Monbulk Cricket Club, Mountain District Christian School, The Patch Primary School and U3A all were granted funds towards their projects.
