An Emerald woman has had the best “shock to the system” after discovering she won $20,000 a month for the next 20 years in a Tattslotto draw.

After purchasing her lucky ticket at Emerald Newsagency, the woman was in disbelief when she found out she had won the Set for Life division one prize which was drawn on Saturday 22 August.

The thrilled winner can’t wait to use her prize to travel the world when she can, renovate her home and share some with her family.

An official from the Lott called the winner, who had no idea she’d scored the $4.8 million prize, on Monday 24 August.

“You are joking?! Are you kidding me? No, this can’t be real,” she exclaimed.

“I am bewildered! I need to check this online. Oh my god, you’re right! I have won. I never thought this would happen.

“With everything going on in the world, it has come at the best time though. I just need to let this sink in.”

The woman said she would surprise her husband with the news by cracking open a bottle of champagne and showing him the win online.

When asked how she planned to relish being ‘Set for Life’, the elated woman said she couldn’t wait to enjoy the feeling of security the win would bring.

“It’s so overwhelming, I can barely think what I am going to do with it,” she said.

“I would love to do some travelling around Australia. There’s so much I want to see.

“I would also love to do more travelling overseas too. Maybe we could do a big trip throughout Asia next.”

She said she plans on travelling a lot every year and will share some of the cash with her family.

“There’s also some things I would like to do around my home. A few little renovations here and there,” she added.

“I will keep working though because I do love my job, but there will be lots of fun things.”

Emerald Newsagency owner Carl Mardirian said he couldn’t be happier for his Set for Life division one winner.

“We were thrilled to discover the news on Sunday morning,” he said.

“What a fantastic surprise that some happy person in Emerald is now set for life.

“We wish her the very best and hope she enjoys her prize.”

Mr Mardirian said this is the third division one winning entry the shop has sold this year.

“How lucky are we?,” he said.

“We look forward to selling more division one winning entries in the future.”

Emerald Newsagency is still on the hunt for their mystery division one winner from TattsLotto draw 4035, drawn 21 March.

They scored the division one prize of $1,386,240.79.

The winning ticket was not registered to a Tatts Card so officials from the Lott have no way of contacting the winner with the dream-come-true news and have to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

If the player discovers they are holding the division one winning ticket, they should contact Tatts on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming their prize.
