Knox Festival will return on Saturday 5 March from 10am until 10pm and will feature an extended twilight program.
Hosted at Wally Tew Reserve, for the first time Knox Festival will continue throughout the night.
Starting at 5pm, the twilight program will offer an evening of family-friendly entertainment.
An assortment of amusement rides like dodgem cars and the extreme thriller will keep the family entertained.
Knox City Council Mayor Cr Susan Laukens said Knox Festival will be the first large scale festival back in the community since it last ran in 2020.
“I invite everyone to come along and enjoy the Knox Festival, a free community event for the people of Knox and beyond to come together and celebrate community life,” she said.
“It’s great to be able to come together as a community again in person after having to cancel last year’s event due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
“I’m looking forward to everyone celebrating the safe return to community life in Knox, with lots of activities for the whole family.”
Family activities include workshops, rides, arts play, stage programs and come and try sporting spaces for cricket, football, netball, tennis and soccer.
Cr Laukens said the community stage will feature a range of local performers, multicultural organisations, school groups and creative organisations.
“There will also be a canopy stage featuring a jam-packed program of singer songwriters, buskers, folk bands and other awesome music.
“A food court will be located right next to the canopy stage, while a global kitchen will offer delightful dishes presented by our local multicultural groups.”
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at approximately 9.45pm, lighting up the Ferntree Gully skies.
Knox Festival is a COVIDSafe event presented in line with the current Victorian Government COVID-19 settings. This is a free event, no booking required. Site capacity limits may apply.
