Emerald Library will be closed for two weeks as it undergoes “facelift” renovations.

The library, located at 400A Belgrave-Gembrook Road, will be closed from 21 March.

An Emerald Library spokesperson said some services usually offered at the library would be available at the Emerald Hills Hub instead.

“People will be able to come and collect holds and we will have a really small browsing collection,” she said.

“There’ll be printing services and those types of things, so we’ll have a limited-service running a little pop-up library.”

Services available during this time include holds collection, click and collect, browsing of new and top titles, limited PC access, printing, free WiFi, adult and children’s programs and a returns chute.

After the two weeks of renovations are complete, the library will reopen while other works are completed.

“We’ll be back down working out of our foyer and meeting room, working amongst the trades,” the spokesperson said.

“It’s a bit hard to have an exact date of when it’ll all be completed.”

The Spokesperson said the library is receiving a facelift, but no structural renovations.

“We’re going to be opening up our meeting room into the library and will be getting a new desk, new carpet for the furniture.” she said.

The works will include a dedicated study and programs space, a new service desk and a foyer area.

The car parks of the Hills Hub and Emerald Library are also both receiving major works until April, which may affect parking for the facilities.
