Yarra Ranges Council is seeking expressions of interest from community members interested in joining a community reference group, to provide feedback on the development and review of the new housing strategy.
Yarra Ranges Council said the housing strategy will guide where and what kinds of new housing will be in the Yarra Ranges.
“The Strategy underpins the Planning Scheme council uses to assess planning applications,” Council said.
“This Strategy will provide the basis for Council’s policy on affordable housing; influencing Council’s advocacy work on the provision of affordable housing in Yarra Ranges. The Strategy also guides the design of new residential developments to increase accessibility and sustainability.”
The purpose of the community reference group is to provide input at key points as the project proceeds, including the discussion paper, draft housing strategy and planning scheme amendment.
The group is open to community members passionate about the future of housing in the Yarra Ranges.
A maximum of eight people will be appointed to the Community Reference Group
The EOI process will close on Tuesday, 5 April. You will be notified on or after Tuesday, 26 April.
