On the final afternoon of early voting in Monbulk, an altercation happened between the Labor candidate Daniela De Martino and independent candidate Craig Cole.
There are a few different accounts about what started it, but multiple eyewitnesses told the Star Mail that it also involved a voter.
There are conflicting accounts of what triggered the confrontation.
Police officers, who were likely already close by as Monbulk Police Station is 76m away from the early voting station, attended the polling station in response.
