One lane reopens after Sassafras road impacted by landslide

Mount Dandenong Tourist Road has reopened with one lane after a landslide impacted the road on Tuesday. (VicEmergency)

Mount Dandenong Tourist Road is now open following a closure in Sassafras between Mason Grove and Lennox Grove, due to a land slip caused by heavy rain.

Crews remain on site repairing the impacts of the land slip. As a result, all traffic is sharing only one lane, with traffic management directing motorists.

Repair and clean up crews are likely to remain in the area over the coming weeks, meaning delays could be lengthy. Therefore, motorists should still consider avoiding Mount Dandenong Tourist Road. Alternative routes include the Burwood Highway, Monbulk Road and Olinda-Monbulk Road.
